Hey what do you think of people paying lots of money just for the doctor to remove all the fats in their body? The idea of liposuction. Can they at least exercise?

Well if the person has a lot of fat it mightmake them look better, and I've heard it's not that painful. Not that you can't look good with some extra weight as it is, but everybody wants to look better. After the excess fat is removed though the person still has to change their lifestyle so it doesn't build up again. Sort of like having a breast reduction. Also, if you weigh less (especially in the breasts), you might actually feel better physically than you did before, depending upon how much excessweight there was and how in shape you are/were.

They are too damned lazy to stick to a diet and opt for the highly dangerous and expensive lipo..So no thank you, the lipo causes deformaties in the stomach area and it is not a permanent answer to obesity.Often the patient requires surgery to reconstruct all the loose skin ..why put yourself through all that agony..just to fill the surgeons already very large bank account.

Good point. it would have to be done in moderation because of those complications. You couldn't remove too much fat at one time, just as you can't lose too much weight at one time without long term effects.

Well there are some people who've tried it all--diets, exercise, pills, etc--and have had no or limited success. So for them, lyposuction is a last resort, besides getting their stomach stapled, I suppose. I don't agree with plastic/cosmetic surgery, unless it's medically necessary. Sometimes it is, for example, most women who have breast reductions need them, but most often it is just rich people taking the easy way out to look good.

Some people need to understand that this is just the way God made them. So why go to all that trouble and money down the drain to look good when you'll gain it all back? Diet and exercise is something of more importance. I'd certinally would never go under that kind of proceedure.

Hey to all. it’s a matter of discipline. And I know all the people have different metabolism speed. But hey I agree with what they said earlier diet and exercise can work. But if not for others and they might die of too much eating hmm well that’s there problem they eat a lot. They don’t have self control.

I agree with Ezria. For some people there are some troublesome areas that they just can't get rid of so they turn to lypo. Also, if they want to spend a bunch of money getting it, what's that to anyone else? It doesn't affect anyone but themselves, so I don't really see the big deal.

Yeah, it's easy to criticize someone, but walk a mile in their shoes first. Maybe they're just a bunch of rich fools, & maybe not.

That's a good point concerning the wealth of these people..here in britain liposuction is hardly ever used on the NHS, the patients have 2 options to go private or remain as they are...1800 I also agree with your point, however even a moderate removal of fat via lipo, can have drastic effects and you have to wonder what else is sucked out besides the flab.

There is a genetic disease Prader Willi syndrome which causes an uncontrollable craving for food. Those who have PWS can weigh in excess of 300 pounds..it must be hell to be constantly feeling the need to eat when 1 is completely full.

Hey some people eat when they feel sad. But you know its an excuse for being too over weight.

The excuses are depression, poor self esteem, unelmployment lonliness, and poverty..also food can become as much of an addiction as heroin or alcohol...plus we have the american nonsense of all you can eat for £4.95..Some greedy feckers take this offer literally. E.G. A group of obese americans, all but emptied pizza hut in Glasgow, they were eventually asked to leave..the bill a whopping £45!

Well, I disagree with most of you with the exception of ezria and midnight princess. Lol. Need I say more??? And no. I don't think that it's an excuse at all.
